I and at least one other FMer have had some correspondence with "MacPro" aka Jim Knight and I am not positive about this, but he doesn't seem to be an FM member, but he does play games with buyers... he said he wanted to buy my lens and then low balled me... under what I had stated as my SELL PRICE, then said he accepted my price but then balked because he was unsure about the warranty.... then said he wanted it..... then he dumped the sale.

He even confirmed my creds with other former buyers here on FM....

Just a waste of my time........... something isn't quite right here so BEWARE!!!!

Are we serious? I understand that people bail out sometimes but you really don't need to be so bitter about it. People that low-ball you or what you consider low-balling, just skip over them. Or send them a message stating its low and you want XXX amount.

It makes you seem immature.

Oh Terry, I know you and it takes a bunch to rile you up, this doen't sound good and glad you have alerted us.

Karl

Perhaps some of my words were taken a bit farther in context then I meant, no harm intended though the heads up is appreciated and considered

How exactly is this a possible scammer? I expect this thread will be deleted shortly by Guardian, as there is no threat here at all, just an inconvenient buyer.

If the person isn't a member of the FM community what's the purpose of bringing whatever issue you have with him here?

So, to clarify, are we supposed to be getting a heads up on potential aggravation? or a potential scam.

'Cause I'm having a hard time understanding the scam seeing as how the scam artist in question did not obtain goods or services...

This reminds me of when David Letterman went through the drive through at Taco Bell and ordered and paid for 1000 Tacos but then drove off before getting the Tacos. Muhahahaha That'll show them!

But seriously you little whiner, what's the deal?

This post is not going well. It only shows how the potential seller is and nothing about the buyer. If a person does not want to buy just don't sell. I don't see what is the problem here. It looks like there is somekind of compulsion to sell to that person. It would be understandable if you are selling it at twice the retail price. If the price is fair, it will sell. It is hard to tell what is low balling as everyone has a baseline price. I once offered $725 for a $750 lens and was called lowballing which I din't think it was and the lens never sold.

Uh, yeah. So a guy chickened out in buying a $5000 lens after corresponding with you a few times? Can't imagine how that could have happened.

Give the guy a break already. I don't think he deserves a public flogging.

A few questions:
1) Why did you chose to waste time with this person?
2) How much time did you spend and what did you do?
3) Specifically how much time did you spend with him checking your creds with others?
4) You seem like you think it's okay to judge others based on their behavior. But you don't seem happy when others do the same with you. Why is that?
5) How do you think your behavior here makes you look to others?
