I just placed an order for a Factory Refurbished D700 body for $2,058.60 including shipping.

Did anyone buy and use Factory Refurbished Nikon before? Do you have any bad experience?

Really appreciate your inputs.

I bought a lens that was a demo, and it had been sent back to be checked out through the refurb process. It was like new, and works perfectly.

Your price looks to be at or below the common used prices for a D700, so it sounds good to me.

Got a refurb D60 a few months back. Looked like new and when i checked the clicks, it had 6.

I purchased a "reconditioned" factory demo D3 and it was like brand new. After taking a few test shots, the click count was only "10". Based on my experience, the only difference between new and reconditioned is that the reconditioned body has a 90 day warranty and comes in a gray & white box it comes in.

Hope this helps...JL

I think 90 day warranty is a bit of a joke. But I suppose you can always get an extended warranty. Which would set you back how much?

That's 90 days more than you get if you buy a used one for the same price.

$99 for my Mack 3 year warranty on my refurbished D700. IIRC, it had 106 clicks on the shutter when I got it. Looks new, acts new, is new to me.

Now I have to get used to FF again.

I bought the same camera not a few weeks ago of B&H. Works perfectly and I saved a bundle.

I can't find refurbished stuff at B&H. Does anyone have a link?

If they have something refurbished, it's attached in the "buy used" under the normal sale price for a given item.

Refurb items normally show as Email for Condition...like this.

Sounds like a pretty good warranty deal -- good to know that's an option when buying refurbs.

Add in the warranty and you've saved a whopping $200.00 over new!

I need more than a 10% discount to settle for a 90 day warranty.

I have bought refurb before, and it worked great, but the savings has to be more than that to me.

Iam a little puzzled, that you didnt ask, F/M members, prior to your ording, if you have any concerns about the factory refurbished D700 ? Maybe i missed something.

That's not such a great deal, considering you can get a new body for about $2,300-$2,400 these days.

Where can I find a new body in the range of $2,300 and $2,400? B&H still $2700.
