New website! I would love all of your feedback and comments! Thanks everyone!

also if any mods can change my username i would aprreciate it! I need it changed to driver1foto. I chose my current name before i chose an actual business name. I would apreciate it

I'll comment upon your request for comments because I know having no response can be annoying. Personally, I've mostly stopped commenting on websites because I believe the basis for website critiques ought to be different than photographic images critiques. People may or may not share my opinions of images, but at least I have confidence when I'm discussing images I'm not talking out of my ... hat.

The name of this forum is Photo Critique, not Website Critique

Galehn,
Not to be rude, but its too much for me to jump to critiqueing a site. As it is, I rarely will click on a link to view a photo.
Too much interesting stuff around already.
And, like AuntiPode, while I might have useful personal impressions, I havent reviewed enough, done enough myself to have any special input.

Where to begin.

The page is way too busy and the text too small. Why do you have a calendar on your website?

The banner image on the top actually leads the viewer's eyes away from the rest of the website.

Putting personal, family pictures under the heading of "my work" is misleading and looks amateurish, as does hosting your photos on flickr instead of keeping the photos on your own server.

This should be enough to get you started.

There's way too much going on on the front page. I have no idea what the site is about.

When you start to redesign, take a few minutes and decide what message you want send with the page. Then design around that idea.

got it.. its actually more of a blog/website..i have family all over the world and they like to see what im up too..which is why i put posts like i do..and with the family pics those are for the rest of the fam that wants to see them..im keeping this on a hobby basis and not looking to go crazy pro...i have fun doing what im doing and if i went pro it would probably take the fun out of it..i only put the job stuff on there in case someone likes my pictures and needs something done..its just for reference. i think i will tone it down a bit tho..thanks for the advice guys..ill change it now and put an update here when its done thanks!

Your photo's are ok, your family blog/site is ok, but neither are close to professional quality. (even if taken with a 1ds)

If you wanted to show us a photo or two to get feedback on that's cool, that's what this forum is for.

why don't you do just that? you'll get a much friendlier response.
