Mint EOS 20Da for $349

I got a mint condition 80-200 f/2.8L for $550, including case, collar, hood and original box. I used it for about 2-3 years, and sold it for $150 profit.

My best deal is my excellent condition 1Ds Mark II for $1700.

Canon 85mm L II for $1350.00 in mint cond

Canon 50mm f/1.8 II -- Free.

When I first signed up on fredmiranda, one of the more vocal/opinionated members here offered a free 50 f/1.8 II to the first person who could find his telephone number in a recent post and give him a call. I did; he sent the lens.

Canon FL 55 f/1.2 -- $81 (or less).

Got this on Ebay sold 'as is' attached to a working FT (either -QL or -b, don't remember at the moment). Haven't sold the body yet, but when I do, the final cost of the lens will be lower than $81. And it's an incredible lens.

i bought 3 85 1.8s a while ago through dell for $240 each BNIB. kept one, sold two at very fair prices and still made out well.

got a near mint eos 3 about two weeks ago for £119. Usually start at about £170 so I was pretty chuffed.

Got a brand new 85L II for $2375 (Canon Australia stock too), now they are about $3100

tbh though, to Australian's buying pretty much anything from BH Photo is a "good deal" given our own exhorbitant prices

it was an open box from a retailer and it was in mint condition.
I ended up selling it after playing around with it, to come back to canon.

I got my pristine Pentax LX for $270 CAD with an additional grid focus screen. I could've easily turned around and sold it for 2x what I paid, but instead I'm putting a few rolls of film a week through it and bragging about the deal I got on forums .

I got my Canon 1DMkII for $1100 CAD, which is a decent deal - definitely not as sweet as the LX, though.

I have had several awesome deals.... in most cases, it involved buying a large lot of equipment, then selling off all the gear except for a lens or two that I was able to keep for free. It works out well for both parties.

To get the Canon 100 mm f2.8 macro lens brand-new incl. box from CircuitCity for 30% off when they closed down...

I bought a new XSi kit (inc. 18-55 IS) for $319 shipped, during the height of the live.come cashback craze. That's probably my best deal.

Pick-up up an 85L I for $950. Older lens that was in perfect condition and alarmingly sharp!

I walked in to my local chain camera shop (Henry's) about a year ago, to buy ink or paper, I don't recall what exactly. While there I asked the salesman if they had anything interesting in the used equipment department. He pulled out a mint 100-400 and said it had come into the store two days before and that one of the other salesman wanted to buy it but hadn't been able to come up with the money so far. If I wanted it, it was $1,300. At the time, a new one was $1,850. I took it.

40D with about 4k on it, last october, for $650
50 1.2 last year, new, for $1050.
and this year a used 16-35/2 for $950.

I bought Canon 17-55mm IS for around $600 + tax refund in Aalborg Denmark.

I got my 28-70L for $1100, and I thought that was pretty good, as I met a bloke a week later who paid $1700 for his on the same day.

As PP said, bargains down here are non-existent.

Years ago I found a NOS dual range Summicron for cheap. Geez I feel old now. :^)
