Sad Hofol (Sam, Ed, Hoff) :: 3K Pics

Here's the one Ed and Hoffer both came out on. I never had so many deliverables to one wedding. It's crazy. I usually have 500 for a an 8 hour wedding. This wedding produced over double that. It came down to not being able to throw any of them out. I've now had the privilege of SEEING entire sets of RAW files from both Tony & Ed. The result? These dudes both get it right in camera. I had to correct maybe 100 images between them, the rest went SOOC to the client. Yeah, that good.

We split up in 3 for group shots. Though I REALLY wanted to put their "heros" on my blog I didn't out of respect. Ed did his thing with ultra wide and strobes, Hoffer did the
Bride and Groom and I did individual and group shots. Hoffer finished his take on the plane ride and Ed is swarmed with work and. I'll see what of his I can post.

In so many words, this couple got hook up. CC, comment welcome. Happy Friday FM. I'm tired.

~Sam

Hoff's take:
Sam and Ed kick butt. It's weird how two people can be such different photographers but both still be good.... I'd say more, but I won't. Some of my favorites...

wow, this couple got lucky-both sets are pretty strong-it's interesting to see them next to each other and see your respective strengths

sam, your group shot on the couch is WOWZA-ridiculously high end, man-great reception work, too

Hoffer: 2, 3, 9, 12-all excellent IMHO

So, a white guy, an asian, and a middle eastern all walk into a bar......

Killer sets guys!

Dude in Sam's #12 has some sweet chops!

Its never occured to me to mount my PW on my flash when I'm using my 580 on board. Screw my bracket man. That looks stellar!

Ya I've seen that and considered it when I got the PW's...I think though I'd rather just velcro the PW to my flash (flash already has velco for my modifiers) and then rubber band it on.

Thanks for taking the time to recommend it though

You can say that again
I also connect the PW to the flash using the caddy, the most comfortable way.

Nice shooting guys, the pics shows that you all had fun.
I must say that every Hoffer's thread is a compositions masterpiece.

Sam you are also doing quite well

GREAT shots! both inspiring and elegant. I admire your super talent!

Do you plan any of your shots before the big day or are they mostly thought up of, on the day?

This is depressing. I gotta stop looking at your stuff.

Stuff like this never happens for me... the MUA would be set up next to the window before I show up, with the bride facing out the window, severely limiting the lighting choices and angles:

There's always something compositionally wrong in my case.. distracting this or that in the background. No good angles anywhere. I would either have to MAKE this happen, or I must have the wrong clients, venue, etc. I 'see' stuff like this, but it rarely materializes. And asking them to move around would just put them in fake pose mode.

Cool spot. Rooftop? Can't say I've ever had the chance to shoot on one. And if I did, the groom would probably be like "nah, I'd rather not. Let's just get the group shot and go to the church"

Dood, I call perv. This is totally an up-the-skirt photo. Not so sure the bride would like this floating around on the net.

Great set and looking forward to seeing the rest! I'm new here and will introduce myself properly soon (with pics). Just curious about the radio headsets. Maybe you have covered this in a past post but seems like a great way to keep in touch. Can you pass on info about a good transmitter/receiver setup that won't mess with PW signals? Seems like you've got that covered from your pics. Great stuff guys!

Sam, Tony awesome sets. They are simple and give a great sense of the day and the events. One question. Where are Ed's photos at? I cannot declare a winner until I see his!

Loving the shot of the shot up the skirt. Sooo funny.

Can someone describe for me the settings to do #13. I know you all find that a beginner question, but I've never tried that before and love it.

I cant believe these were of the same ceremony. Sams have so much more drama. Tonys so serene. I love Sams capture of the boy crying and 16.
