"Camped out" at my neighborhood BE nest this AM. Was no evidence of Eaglets but the BE in the nest got real agitated all at once and I thought that maybe someone was hatching under her (him). I took this series of shots and noticed there was someone (thing) in the nest that really did not belong !!

When I popped the images up on the LED screen I laughed so hard I almost pulled an "Ant" and knocked over my new 500 and tripod etc!!

Enjoy

Mike

Great way to lose your nutz buddy Mike shot #3 clearly looked like the squirrel was scared to death and is levitating Oh man, too funny and just great shots of the event. Guess you need a safety tether on your lens and pod, be careful buddy, just hilarious!

Too funny Mike!!! Besides the dumb@ss squirrel these shots are very well done

I did stop to shoot an eagle on a telephone pole on day. About a foot below the eagle was a squirrel frozen against the pole looking up right at the eagle. I'm guessing the bird landed there and never saw the squirrel. After quite a while the squirrel finally cracked, turned 180 and high tailed it down the pole. That scared the eagle and it flew away Those of us photographing it all missed the shot, we were laughing so hard!!

Yeah these scenes are hilarious in their own special way. I guess the BE was as surprised to see that squirrel in its nest as the squirrel was to find itself there!! And if I was the BE I probably would not attack that squirrel from a dead stand still. Squirrels bite... plus unhatched eggs present..

thanks for looking

Wow, I'm surprised the eagle chased it away when it could have had a snack. This is one of the Darwin moments isn't it

Good one Mike.

The Darwin question is: dumb squirrel and dumb bird? or smart squirrel and dumb bird? or perhaps the bird knows the squirrel has teeth!
