Call Fotocare in NY (212-741-2990), they are getting them very frequently. I got mine 3 weeks ago, i asked on Monday, received it on Thu, just in time for a round the world trip. Maybe because i'm a nice customer who pay his bills on time, but those guys are great...

I did a search and only found this one in the past month or so?

Wife finally gave me clearence to get one, is out of stock common now?

A lot of places have the camera in stock or will place you on a waiting list. For online ordered just place your order in the backorder queue. Most orders are fulfilled in a week or so.

I bought mine from Kenmore Camera in January when my local pro store was out of stock. Kenmore has taken care of me in the past so I thought I would give them a plug. Their website shows that they are in stock, www.kcamera.com.

I picked mine up at Norman Camera last Thursday and had it Friday. I just checked and they still show them in stock. I would call to make sure.

I hope when they are called they will give the same price as everyone else as their asking price on line is about 300 more than average.

FYI, that's a Canadian store and the price is in CAD$, which is roughly 0.77 relative to US$. So, multiply their displayed prices by about 0.77 and you get the approximate US price.

Which actually makes it a pretty fair deal...

How reliable is Aden Camera? That is an awfully well priced 5D2!

A lot of stores have dropped the price to 2499 now that they have good stock of them.

Where exactly are you looking? I just did a quick search through B&H, Adorama, J&R, Amazon, and PriceGrabber.com and it seems like the lowest price is roughly $2650.

Well, I'm talking local, I kind of gave up on all the big guys except KEH, who really isn't that big. But also a quick Sleaze-bay search turned up a couple of sellers at 2499 also.

Aden is a pretty good Canadian retailer. I would say they are like the Adorama of Canada

That sounds great. I better give them a call sometime!

Then again, I would be doing a disservice to the US economy :/ Maybe I should just buy locally

I checked several (not all) of the E-Bay vendors selling the 5D2 for less than $2700 on Resellerratings.com. They were not as bad as Broadway, but I am not sure I would want to do business with any of them. Be careful and check them out before making a purchase.

www.calumetphoto.com has them, just the body. The kit with the 24-105 has a 2-4 week wait.

No, they aren't quite that sleazy...

Here's some price comparisons (all in Canadian dollars) showing what you can expect to pay for the 5D Mark II in Canada versus B&H and Adorama:

http://www.photoprice.ca/product/02699

And the Broadway Camera on that list is the one in Vancouver, not Brooklyn... you can save C$500-C$600 buying in Canada, depending on what the shipping costs are.

Thanks for the information Cliff! While I feel that I should spend within the US, saving a couple 100 really is making me think twice. Any good stories about The Camera Store? If anything, I think I'll be purchasing from them!
