D40 + 70-300vr

For those of you looking for a budget rig for birding or whatever: the D40 was less than $300 and the 70-300vr was $330, both new.
I sold my D50 because the lcd was killing my eyes. The D40 is quite an impressive little camera....i'm glad I got it. I actually like the lcd being used for settings instead of a top lcd

while I do not have a D40, I am also a 70-300 VR user, and I love this lens.
When hiking in the wood, it is my main lens 90% of the time
