I shot my first engagment session with it yesterday. THE SCREEEEEEEEN!!! Worth the cost of admission IMO. I shot it Full RAW for my first go to weight things out. We had a 2 1/2 hour session. For 270 shots I was at 10 GIGS! Gonna do Jpeg on the next one and sRAW after that. I will find what \s' most comfortable for me. Will post soon.

I'm still in love with my D700. For me its the off-center 51 pt AF tracking that really made the switch worth it.

But dude I'd totally hit that. Spences 5d2's look hot with the 35L and 85L. God I miss those babies.

Yeah that LCD is the bomb. All the goodies of the 40D and ISO6400 to boot. SRAW1 is totally useful. Had to return mine due to error 20's though

Last wedding on the blog: Laura + Ross were shot with 4 5D Mk IIs in sRAW.
I like it so far. Takes a bit of getting used to to switch to the "AF ON" button instead of the *. But what is up with the shortage in batteries OMG.

i'm talking a comparison like this:

your old camera and nice lens on the left
your 5dmkii camera and the same nice lens on the right

for comparison's sake.

did you do that type of comparison spencer? i'll check out your post.

Ray:

There is a custom function to swap those buttons, so you can go back to using the * button to focus.

I'm in love with the 5DmkII. You don't even know how crazy awesome it is. Clueless.

We will be sleeping together tonight.

You are a sick man and I love it!

We are so buying one! Talked with Evan Baines on Saturday and even he was impressed!

sRaw is totally usable. It's like 40D's filesize but with better noise control and dof.
I use full Raw when I know I need to do some extreme cropping.

Sam, did you sell your 5D or 40D to get this baby? Any plans to go for double 5DMkii like sboerup?

I love my MarkIII with a passion. Just can't get over the tight cropping autofocus of the 5D's... MarkI or Mark II.
