Went outside for 2mins today and snapped a few macro images of the frozen foilage outside. The main feature shown is from the macro image while the stars are taken from a shot from new years eve...

When the macro images loaded onto my viewer I immideately assosiated it with astronomy imagery and decided to to a composite version posing as such - this is the result.

Interesting shot, Haldor. I quite like it. Is the blue cast on purpose?

Definately cover art material for a rock band.

Thank you guys for taking the time to reply.
I need to correct myself, the stars are not real stars - its a shoot of some fireworks this new year eve. The only "non-macro" shot in this image.

Kenj, the real color is more white/ice blue but I have in post changed Hue a little to achieve a more appropriate colorcast.

Thanks again, make 2009 your best one yet.
I'll come back with more macro's ...

It's a caterpillar trying to push through translucent cling wrap

Could be fun if it was

Actually its the top of a rodedendron stub encased in frost. The extreme narrow DOF distort the rest. Had a 24-70mm on camera with a 50mm reversed in front of that, provides a +1:1 shot.
