Do you like these two 100% candid portraits?
Do you prefer colour or the b&w version?

#1 is kind of an odd pose; I prefer the b/w.

#3 - the color version looks better to me because the glow of the flame shows nicely in his face. might have come off a little better if more of the cigar was in view.

I agree. The first picture is much more striking in B&W. The second picture is more interesting in colour.

In my humble opinion both images work very well in b&w but as it has been pointed out, seeing more of the cigar in the second had added more impact to the portrait.

I agree that #1 is a bit of a awkward pose. #2 is wonderful in both color and B&W. I love the crop and focus of the eyes on the flame.
