Sorry it's taken me so long to post my pix from BC. Work Work Work and

I purchased a new Dell 24 Inch display a few months back and just received
my Spyder 3 Calibrator. I thought it would be nice to calibrate before posting these. MISTAKE !!!

I seem to be having an issue with Skies and the color Blue. I've tried adjusting white
balance in ACR, PS (Thanks Kitehog), recalibration and many other things......... Still
not comfortable with the blue skies...............

Side note is that It seems to be less of a problem on older images I have on my HD.
So it may be something I did in camera on the BC shoot, or something with the
light / time of day...........

I'm tired of PP these over and over so I'm done and here they are like it or not.

I was able to meet many of the Southern Cal shooters. I'm afraid to mention them as I
may forget a few ............ What I can say is what a great bunch of photographers they
are and a fun group to shoot with. I really enjoyed myself and a special thanks to
The Zoomer for giving me "THE TOUR", special thanks to scott and KirkB for letting me
hang with them for an afternoon, and thanks to Garen for Lunch of an afternoon of BC shooting.

Trip two is in the works >> Hopefully the Osprey and Juvi BE will cooperate this time

1) I found this guy and zoom behind a bush and the zoomer was feeding him by hand.
I think this little feller is well known at BC as "The most photographed hummer of all
time." Unfortunately I didn't have the Macro lens with me so had to take a few steps
back with the Mark III, EF 500 IS, and 1.4x on.

2) The welcoming committee for the Ant and Zoom. I don't think you will see these
posted by Ken >> He was busy yakking about his trip with Monkey and something
about Sandhill Cranes, meeting Monkey, and something about growing a beard......
I think he spent to much time down south

3)

4) Kirb B, Scott, and a few other photogs were photographing a Peregrine Falcon
Perched on a tall tree > This guy swoops down and tries to knock the PF off
it's perch............ Unfortunate I was hand holding the 600 with 1.4x on and had
a bit to much ZOOM to get the shot. Kirk posted an excellent image >> this is
The NH in question.

5) Here is the PF Post attack. He looks a bit miffed and an unhappy camper.

6) I don't think you'll see these posted by Da Zoom either. They move a little fast
for the old man to track >> SO I'll post these for him to view from an
Ant Perspective

Here ya go zoom

7) Mr Z provided my very first Kestrel image. Thanks Ken

8) And My very first "ACCEPTABLE" KF shot was provided with the help of Mr Capt Kirkb. Thanks Kirk !!

9) AND another

10) Perched and Chillin Peregrine Falcon

11)

On this post I have Two All time firsts 1) kestrel 2) Peregrine Falcon
First acceptable image of a Kingfisher (IMO anyway)

It was 7 hours drive to L.A. and I have to say it was worth every minute of the 14 hour round trip...........

thanks again for the Southern California hospitality.

Wow, these are excellent. You post great shots routinely but this set seems a cut above... KF and PF are particularly nice. What a good start for the new year.

Thanks Rob or is it Amy? I'm never sure which of you two is commenting or posting and you never post a name........ I'm so confused

Appreciate the comment Mr or Mrs RobAmy and thanks for kudos on the PP. It's been a rough week of Monitor Calibration.

b.a.smith,

I used to use my Samsung HDTV as a monitor. But 31" widescreen was just a tad to much for easy viewing Thanks B.A. for the critique and comment.

I got them to 'bit' so I guess I should comment

So as many times as you reworked these it is like posting about 60 pictures I guess

I have said it before, I am not a fan of blue skies, isn't that weird. Don't get me wrong, these shots look fine but blue just bothers me for BG, go figure. For what it's worth, sky #9 to me is spot on. I see sky #4,5 being a bit odd, cyan to me? I will let everyone else help form your opinion on your blues, the only one that is over the top is #7(your 6 ) but the Kestrel more than makes up for that, that is a real nice one!

Really fine images Ant, all of them actually. I have scrolled back and forth and left and right and they are very pleasing. Your first KF shot I like best where as the second KF shot I think would look better long rectangle moving up that perch about 3/4 of the way, their is your first '09 Witt-nit Oh, and since you have been gone so long, some 'nitters' have been charging for their services, first one is a freebie baby

Now, about a favorite..........mmmmmmmmm, how bout #6, you put some nice real estate in that and I bet you messed with the crop for a while to end up here, well it is a very cool shot with more in it than you usually like to put but that my friend is a nice creation, shadow, perfect burdy, reflection, and pose. All those elements work to make one fine shot you made

#5 is a rather powerful pose, that will be hard to duplicate, very neat. Did I say that Kestrel is nice

There I kept it short............ I can't believe I still made the first page too!

thanks for the heads up on the "Scrolling" Issue Tony. It took me a bit to figure out what
you meant by that >> SLow but I catch on

I hope I fixed the problem with a few <Return> hits of the keyboard.

Appreciate you commenting and glad you enjoyed them Tony.
