I am looking for Nikon D2X or D2Xs bodies in very good condition with all accessories. Offering up to $1050 for D2X or $1500 for D2Xs, including shipping and applicable fees. I'm going to need 50 bodies total as this is for a large project. This could be a good excuse to upgrade to the D300/D700/D3/D3X of your dreams for this coming year.

Thanks!

edit: my apologies, I had written WTB in the subject but forgot to move the drop down menu

Sounds interesting. I don't have a D2x, but I am curious about this project. Any more info?

my apologies for the confusion, thanks for the heads up! As to the project, I myself don't know a huge amount about it as I am just sourcing the bodies, but i believe it has a military connection of some kind. As I know more I'll let you guys know. Thanks!

Do you mean the D2X is going to be used as a weapon?

thanks for all the pms! It's going to take a little while for me to respond to everyone, what with new years and all, but I will get to all of you. As far as the cameras being used as a weapon, I doubt that is the aim of the project, but anyone who's ever picked one of them up knows that they pack quite a wallop if used properly.

Happy new Year to everyone, and keep the responses coming!

And just to clarify, $1050 and $1500 are the most I will offer for a D2x or D2xs body, including shipping and all fees. If you absolutely need to make more money on the sale then I wish you the best of luck and would love to hear from you if you change your mind.

Thanks!

This ad borders on fraudulent... The ad claims that this buyer is offering $1050 for a D2X - but when contact is made, the offer becomes $950 (even for a virtually mint D2X). The offer goes to $1000 if the camera includes an extra battery. I know this for a fact because a good friend answered the ad...and then the low-ball offers began. So, in my opinion, the numbers that appear in the ad are misleading at best and a fraud at worse.

See original ad below - the ad has been modified this time around but, sorry - the original ad was not in line with honest selling policy.

This ad also appeared over at photo.net as well.

Really, if you are going to state a price in an ad, it is (in my opinion) very poor practice to then re-negptiate when someone makes contact.

Robert, you are correct that my original ad did not include the words "up to" in regards to the prices offered, and I apologize for any confusion or frustration that may have caused. I am sourcing bodies for a friend of mine, and I am subject to his needs when it comes to being able to offer certain amounts for each camera. I have not yet changed the ad on photo.net, and I will do so immediately, thank you for bringing it to my attention.

I have tried to be very upfront with everyone who has contacted me about what I can offer and why, and so far the vast majority have been very positive transactions. For those who need to sell their cameras for more, there are plenty of other options, both here and on other websites.

Hello Ms. Schaefer,

Thank You for your response, and very good that you have agreed to change your ad at photo.net.

However, when at least one person contacted you via email regarding the original $1050 offer made here on this forum just a few days ago, you made a lower (by almost 10%) counter-offer. Now that seemed to be the classic, "bait-and-switch" approach. Namely, offer one thing publicly in an ad, and then make a very different proposal when someone contacts you privately. That was just not right, not good and not ethical. So perhaps you may want to re-evaluate your most recent explanation, "I have tried to be very upfront with everyone who has contacted me about what I can offer and why." No, that statement is quite counter to my friend's experience and still rings hollow. By the way, she is a working professional photographer. And yes, she will happily seek other venues to sell her D2X and accessories.
