Greetings, Merry Christmas and happy new year to my fellow FMers, for the past 2 weeks I have been posting some photos from my new 50D and old 600 lens. During that time I also had my Mk3 and 400DO lens, these are from last week 12/21 day. All exifs should be intact.

1- Very heavy crop taken in SJWS 1/1600, F5.6 and 400ISO

The rest taken in Bolsa Chica

2- 1/1600, F11 and 400 ISO

3- Heavy crop 1/1600, F10 and 400 ISO

4- What a neck formation that must hurt? F9, 1/1600 and 400 ISO

5- Golden hour shot F5.6, 1/400 and 400 ISO almost full frame hence shallow DOF and very blurry BG.

The KF shots were taken in a very difficult light conditions I don't believe I could have captured the IF shots with any other camera aside from 1D and D3 series. They all are very heavy crop and part of a sequence with over 90% in focus.

6- F4.5 1/2500 and 500 ISO Heavy crop and severely underexposed.

7- F8, 1/1600 and 400 ISO Heavy crop and underexposed.

Cheers,

Garen

Thanks Brenton, The Egret series came out real nice it was 11 frames from start to finish and all in focus I'm so proud of my 1Dmk3, this one is a world a part from my previous MK3 (focus wise) that I got in 05/07.

Egret is my fav too. I bet the MKIII and 400 DO is a nice combo. I wonder how it does on action shots when wide-open?

Garen -
I see that you brought your toys to my neck of the woods. Sorry I missed seeing you guys out there. I just ended up spending the day in bed.
Did Santa bring you any more toys?
Have a happy holiday season.

Hi Garen,
Looks like you have some very good photography equipment. Nice series and informative narrative. For me the top pick is #2 with the 3 birds in formation, with different wing poses but all with their eyes on the lens. Well done.

Nice job Garen Love the pose in 1. The KF's might be pushing it a bit.

Beautiful set Garen.

The three Avocets in flight & the Golden Light Avocet are my favorites.

Went to SJWS yesterday. It was a beautiful day...

Thanks Harsha you are too kind, the last 2 KF IF shots are for documentary purposes, they need to be deleted.
