It's come to my attention that I've already missed one email, if not more, because my website isn't live yet. I've contacted Blu, but in their defense I requested to go live at 5 PM on Friday -- so I can't complain too much considering the weekend. What should I do? Thankfully the girl that contacted me also called me later that week. Unfortunately I was already booked the day she wanted me. But I'm a bit paranoid that this may happen again. Advice?

On a pre-made service like that I can't suggest anything else to do. On ours I designed the contact form such that it also inserts the message in a database table for redundancy. So as long as the thing goes through at all, it will leave a record in there.

I've thought of changing the instant message they receive to something about how to email me at a different email. I guess I keep thinking taht by some miracle blu will suddenly make my site go live. But I chose a REALLY bad time to request it. Can't really blame them...

Deb, it was one of the reason why I left Blu. A lot of missed emails and it is always some sort of excuse that has nothing to do with them. It is good to know that time has proven I wasn't being paranoid as I hear so many of you experiencing the same thing.

My advice? Switch company

Try imagequix their prices are pretty good customer service is top rate and if you want hosting its also very easy. Never missed an email and it even sends me an email when people log on to look at the galleries (maybe others do that but I like that feature). PM if you want more info.

How does the web site being active stop emails to that domain? Is Blu also hosting the site?
I have a blu site and was receiving and sending emails long before it was live. I am hosted on Go Daddy and have been using a web based email service for months before the site went live.
I realize you could not get emails from site inquires, but a direct email should get through.

That's why it's best to get a blu template but host your site yourself. Blu does nice templates but GoDaddy is who I trust with hosting - to each according to their strengths.
