BTW, i'm totally kidding about the lazy folks part. I'm the lazy mo fo not willing to do the posting up photos @ 1am this morning.

Anyways, Mike's a basketball buddy of mine. We play on the same team in an Asian Basketball League here in the Bay Area called Dream League. I haven't played much especially this summer since I was 2nd shooting. He's our center @ 5'11. haha!

Anyways, this was a wedding gift to them. 2 hours at SF city hall, 2 hours at the reception (more like just dinner amonst friends). They're having their big wedding in LA, where they are both from. They tried to get Mr. Chrisman, but his dad wasn't willing to dish out $7,500, but when they decided to just pay for it themselves, Mr. Chrisman was already booked. They didn't find out I was a wedding photog until after they booked Mr. Chrisman's referral, Brett Butterstein. oh well. They did get their engagement sessh done by Mr. Chrisman which can be found on his blog.

Anyways, here are some favs.

Best. Cake. Ever.

A 5'11" center? You gotta be kidding me. I'll come out and you can pick me up. I'm 6'6".

Oh, and you did good too My favorites are 4 ,13, 28

On # 1 I'd crop a little tighter. Get his mouth and nostrils out. Here's one I just posted that's similar...

rob, your images are getting better everytime i see a post. be careful with your white balance... getting pretty darn warm. it's dangerous territory for photos especially for asian skin tones.

Ed, I know, i even took it down a notch in LR for the yellows. Shouldda done the oranges too. Thanks for the inspiration man.

Tony, 6'6? You gotta be 1/8 asian though. haha. seriously, they never check. There's plenty of "questionable" players in this Asian league. We're in the 6'ft and under division though. Run and gun. One big (Mike as seen above) and 4 guards (couple of them in these photos). I like to run the point.

Mineymole, thanks. to be honest, PP isn't one of my strong points, but i'm improving little by little.

I think you gave Ben a run for his money. Great job Rob. Your skills have improved so much in the last few months. I see LOTS of emotion here. Your capturing what count. Some of the indoor stuff is a little too yellow for my taste. Rule of thumb I use is cool indoor, warm outdoor. You can always warm up the image if it's too cool, however, correcting WB on a yellow cast image ends up looking like crap.

Dial your PP and make it yours. Get to the point that someone knows a dog image without a watermark. Ben has certain style. His look is so distinguishable. As does, Yervant, Jerry G. Claire etc. Whats Rob's look. What does he want it to be. You have a fresh canvas friend.

#28 for teh win. unique angle and nice moment caputred, even though it doesn't say "wedding"

Some of the indoor candids look "burned out" - can't put my finger on it-- too contrasty, white clipped... not sure

3,4, 7 are some great shots. You incorporated the background very well. Love it.

A Wii cake... what a fabulous idea haha. I hope that was enough to feed everyone during the reception. Post a shot of them cutting it!

Sam, thanks man. I know you're just being your kind self as always, but thanks for the Chrisman compliment. Still trying to find my PP self. I think i've got something in terms of b&w, but still working on the color photos.

Andrew, 28 was an arm wrestle match between the groom and the bestman. part of a game they played (lots of games at Asian weddings).

Brandon, Wii cake was just for show. The bride made it herself along w/ the real cake that we all ate. she even made the goodies she let all the guest take home as party favors.

Alrighty folks, keep 'em coming. I won't be able to comment back until after 4pm tomorrow since i'm BLOCKED at work, but I'll be back. Until then, leave me a nice message on my blog

I agree with cropping the nostrils out of #1... but I'd keep the lips.

I like the pose in 10. I know it's a common pose, but this is one of the better examples of it. It's funny how the same pose can work great in one image and not look quite right in others. I think the lighting would look better with less light from the camera's POV.
