so check out my blog for the latest stuff:

Just shot a wedding for a good friend of mine. Turned out Ben Chrisman did his engagement photos. Ben actually was booked on their wedding in LA, which is more official since it will be their families (most who live in LA). Check out Ben's blog for their engagement session.

Holla!

cant you use one of those url site deals? Im not sure how it works but a friend showed me how her myspace page was blocked but she went to a web site that was unblocked which offers a unique address bar that the network she's using cannot see. There is a name for it but I just cannot recall.

Geez. I wish they would block me. Then I'd get more done. On the other hand, there isn't much engineering work right now, so I only really get on when I'm on breaks or don't have anything to do...

I'm the IT guy at my work (nothing fancy, there is the boss & me) so I control what is and isn't blocked!

On that same note, I bring my personal laptop to work to do my photo editing for images I take at my day job. I cruise the net on that one so if my boss does go into FF and check my browsing history on my work comp, it only shows work sites

Shoot, if you know how to setup proxies, why not go all the way and ssh tunnel through? encrypted tunneling will leave your IT scratching their heads.

ssh tunnel I have to admit that I have no idea what you are talking about but I've often thought of tunneling out of the office, Great Escape style.

Just google "proxy servers." There are hundreds upon hundreds of sites that allow one to circumvent the little roadblocks that companies like to throw up. The tech guy at our work has unfortunately found an excellent type of software that can't be hacked. No way, no how. Dammit.

If you have a smart phone, you can usually pay to enable it as a modem, $15 a month isn't bad.

Or do what I did and buy a cellular modem... $60 a month isn't cheap, and it's FOR work but it's also handy for goofing off AT work.

Basically means that you re-route all your traffic through ssh via a server setup on the other side. Kinda like proxies, but encrypted.

My brother was able to tunnel through my server from work in the states with all traffic blocked, Saudi Arabia, and even played World of Warcraft, abeit a bit choppy.

Unless your IT dept. opens connection to only pre-approved sites / ports / protocols and block the rest, it's pretty hard to block everything.

You all should read this thread through the eyes of an employer or manager. You would be taking Maalox with them.
