as hard as the lonely flower tries, it knows winter will be its demise, still it stays to show its last breath of beauty...til the end

Very thought provoking photo, said well by your words.
Don't forget, the seeds will come in spring!

Elegant in its simplicity - less is certainly more Excellent focus and DOF - expresses your vision very well.

Suggestions: perhaps more space to the right and less bottom; darken the light green area at the bottom (maybe a gradient on the diagonal LLHC?).

regards,

Bob

Nice image, well-titled. I'd like to see the in-focus areas a bit sharper, but maybe just my opinion.

Very nice composition and colors and interest. Nice mood. A bit of snow or frost might match the title better.

I think I would crop 1/3 of the bottom area off to emphasize the flower more.

[Re cruel embrace - Its minus -34 windchill here going down to -38 by evening, with snow blowing - I would have to get the shovel and furnace out to find such a picture. So although cruel to the flower - you ain't see nothing yet ]

Very nice.
