I like to read threads about sony dslrs and the a mount lenses.Just want to see how others feel about it.

I don't think there's a strong enough user base for a Sony forum here, serious users are going to congregate primarily over at Dyxum.com anyways.

I think Sony, Olympus, and Pentax deserve to have a forum on here.... why only Nikon and Canon....

I want a separate Zeiss forum. Just kidding

I think Sony will become a major player soon, on the same level as Canon and Nikon, so I voted yes.

Well, looking at all the posts over time, there seems to be a much greater interest in things Zeiss than Sony. Out of the last 80 threads, only 2 or 3 have to do with Sony. Hardly a compelling argument for a separate forum.

Lotus, that might be a chicken and egg thing. In any case, the A900 may well change everything. Look what happened in the case of MF. There was quiet petitioning for a long time, but eventually the people all went to LL, GetDPI etc. In any case, with so few Sony posts here, I guess many Sony people simply went elsewhere. Adding a Sony forum might bring them back. I never understood why it was so hard to add forums around here. Why not?

I would like to see it stay here in the alternative forum if for no other reason than the caliber of discussion would most likely be higher and the responses more informed. Just look at the amount of uninformed threads/opinions and silly brand loyalty that goes on in a Canon or Nikon specific forum. I think the alternative forum is just a little more open, objective and overall, the expertise/experience of the members here is just higher.
