One of my 600RX units now only beeps like 2/3 of the time when set to do so. When it fails, instead of the beep there is this barely audible "squawk", like a dying parakeet. Everything else is fine, but I was wondering if anyone else experienced this and whether I should be concerned about the impending demise of the unit. My guess is the beeper itself is either on the fritz or there is a loose connection.

Sounds like the beeper itself is going. I wouldn't be concerned in the slightest about it affecting any other function of the strobe. If you're really concerned I could trade you one of my 400BX's that beeps perfectly.

Not normal, athough there are times I wish mine were more of a squawk than a squeak.

I'd send it in and have it looked at.
