I just can't afford to keep these any more...

*** PRICE DROP! *** I'm selling my trusty *1D mk2*. Actuations are pretty low... would gladly provide image for cancount if somoene has it. (just email or PM me). Camera comes with 4 batteries, charger & L bracket. It's in good shape, and has been a great performer. *Asking $1350.* you cover paypal. i'll get shipping. I am also willing to split the L-bracket if there is separate interest in that. (obviously, that would drop the overall price of the 1d2, as well).

*** SOLD! *** The *500mm f4.5L* is a sweet lens, and I'm sad to see it go. Very very sharp... I will post some samples when I can dig them up. It has some nicks here and there like most older lenses, but glass and performance are flawless. Very snappy AF and very sharp images (and light enough to hand hold!). A great upgrade from the 400 f5.6L! Comes with hood, leather cover, and trunk (does NOT come with lens plate shown in photos).

PM or email works. Happy shopping.

-Dan

Cancount update: about 65k. Image used was from late this summer, but I only used the camera for one wedding this fall (as backup to my 5D), and couldn't have put more than a couple hundred shots on it.

Here are a few shots with this lens and camera (most also use the 1.4x). These are all from the same trip to Florida last January. Quick & dirty edits on the first few shots that jumped out at me, so excuse blown highlights, etc. (and no, to answer your question, I still haven't processed shots from a trip 11 months ago)

if anyone wants 100% crops etc, email me. also, if you think you're seeing dust in those eagles shots... those are actually flies. most flies i've ever seen. nest must have been pretty rancid.

dennio, thanks for the thoughts.

just to clarify, this is the MkII- (not N). With that said, according to the breakdown on dpreview, the ONLY difference between these two is a half an inch of LCD (2" vs 2.5"). sensor, processor, everything else... exactly the same...

so it's still a pretty good deal

how much cash with the 40D ?

I've had a few requests about trades with the 40D. here's my general response:

"how much do you think your 40D is worth? take my price and subtract it by that."

i've been seeing 40D's going for 600-700, so as a start i'd say 1350-650 = 700.

thus, 40D + $700 = my 1Dmk2.

different thoughts/equations? email or pm works.
