Very cool shots Tim, photographed and processed so well.
Now as far as ID is concerned, I'd say the first one is Small Bird, the second one is Peepsqueak Sparrow, the last one is Russet Finch.

The 1st two I believe are 1st year White Crowned Sparrows and the last a finch - male house would be my guess. All fine shots, Tim. Last one's plummage coloration has probably been influenced by its food supply.

Tim, I'm going to lean my id's to Zoomers, wcs are one of my favorites and these do look like young ones. 3 does have the pose, profile of a house finch, the color is just a bit off, so once again I would agree with Ken. Nice shots by the way.

Thanks Mr. Z,
I was wondering why the finch had a golden/orange coloration to it.

I'm with Ken here,

the first two shots are of juvenile White-crowned Sparrows - - I have a ton of them here. And the second is a male House Finch.

Nice shots.

Lil,
As you can tell it's been pretty dismal weather wise, broke out the camera for 2 hours today and got a few of the little ones.

Tim,

you have even light - - that's the up side of it all.... If you want to know what dismal is - - go to my web site & look at the destruction of the wildfires - - then you'll know what dismal is. It's so depressing & sad.

well, I will probably not make it out for a few weeks unless I dash to L.A. Arboretum or Sepulveda...

Lil,
I was talking weather wise, I'm sorry for those who have suffered from the fires it is very unfortunate. I was not comparing the light to the fires, this is a photography forum.

Tim,

I know you did & I know this is a photography forum.

I believe you've misunderstood me - but that's OK - - I get the hint. I won't bother you again.

Lil,
When I sad the weather has been dismal it has been just that, a lot of fog, etc.
I know there are things in this world that are far, far worse. I know that for you right now the clean up has been terrible and by no means I was comparing the two. I hope you can go out and do one of the
things you enjoy most... take pictures. Take it easy.
