Well I've finally finished my book. I'm a bit miffed with the company cause the book became far more expensive than their pricing said it would & I'm miffed. Guess I had no chance to decide which paper I want & it became far more than I wanted. Lets just hope I get it in time to send to Sweden.....

Anyhow this is another set from back in July which I have not posted. This one is about meet ups in between adult & chick...... These are shot through the chain linked fence - so I'm sorry if the quality is not up to par.... Either way, many of these shots made the book. I had no idea how hard this was going to be. 200 pages later & 280 photographs - - I'm done & exhausted....

I will let the photographs speak for themselves....

Usual equipment - D300 with the Sigmonster....

I hope you will enjoy....

Lil

# 1 - Mom Mom Moooooooommmmmmm I'm hungry...

# 8 - Patient parent....

The rest of the shots are very emotional to me. It was heart wrenching to watch it... Call me sentimental, but the mother in me still feels like my heart is being cut out....

# 9 - Another parent arrives with dinner....

# 10 - Where is my chick? Patiently the parent waits......

# 11 - Where is my chick? ? ? No chick is coming out...

This image is copyrighted by the owner

# 12 - Maybe if I wave it around....... Still no chick arrives...

# 14 - I'm out of here... or Chad's narration works well as well "Where did he go?" The parent leaves - - I don't know the fate of the chick....

Lil, what a special series.... and to see you started out with a shot of Ant calling out to you saying he is hungry... he is always hungry!

I sure hope the chick made it... so what did you do with the little chick? take it home for safe keeping you know in #14 the mother is looking at you saying where did he go?

Thank you Chad,

kids - - always hungry. How true.

I hope the chick was there somewhere & just not hungry at the time. I like your narration for # 14 better. "Where did he go?"

I did not steal any chicks when I was there - - I promise. As a mother I could not ever do that. I know it would upset the mother.....

Glad you enjoyed them Chad

Thank you Harsha,

I must say I think the Sigmonster did well through the fence. Glad you like # 4 - I was so upset I clipped the wing, but in the long run I feel it still worked out....

Glad you like them

Thank you Tom,

Glad you like that shot. It really shows us how tiny the chick was. Personally I think it's almost hysterical that the chick thinks it can hide there.... But I guess I can....

Thanks

Sorry Garen,

these were taken at the same time as the Killdeer shots & I just ended up shooting so much I was backlogged.... Really backlogged in my pp work. I finished them not all that long ago. And then I had to get the book done & it drove me nuts to get it done......

Glad you like them

Thank you Tim,

so glad you like them. Those last shots still upset me & my heart was aching when I shot them.... I will remain positive & hope the chick was just not hungry...

Lil, I would be proud to put these images in my book, for they are very nice! Could you PM me with the name of the company you used to make your book, because I have been really interested in making one.

Well at least you finished it so that's 1 thing less to think about
sweet shots Lil You can barely see the fence pattern in some bgs but not too much! Hope the chick was ok in the end...maybe he decided he needs a break from over-caring parents
