should we change the name of the Alt forum to just "The Rokkor Club"?
It seems 90% of the talk here lately is "Rokkor this, Rokkor that"... "Subtractive conversion", "stuck aperture", "ebay listing", "pile of lenses", how many 58's do you have?", and the like....

just wanted to point out the hysteria, and see if i'm the only one who thinks it's a little bit off the deep end.

I think that a sub division might be in place.

haha yeah, might as well have a Rokkor subforum.
3-4 years from now, we're all going to look back at the 58/1.2 as the "C/Y 21 of 2008"...

iso1600 is just a bit angry these days We should let him have his fits :P

That said, I would love a underforum of rokkors, passwordprotected, so I don't have to read "I hate the bokeh of the rokkor!!!!"-messages from two certain individuals in each thread :P

It's the rokkor fanboy club. ;-) I am a member too.

Notice how more of these are coming out of the woodwork on ebay lately? Some in rather dodgy condition too, IMO.

Fanboy: A person who is completely loyal to a game or company [or lens?] regardless of if they suck or not.

We are not fanboys, because if the Rokkor sucked we would not like it.

Before the moniker Alternative Gear and Lenses was arrived upon, some of the ideas floated about by the moderators was "Adapter Hack", "Adapter Mod", etc.

Back then it was primarily a German man's club. Nice to see it expanded to a more global perspective.

+1

This alt lens forum isn't the wide informative source it used to be
The Rokkors dominate much more than they should. Some of them (like the 24/2.8, 35/1.8, 85/1.7,...) are nothing special, and a pain to convert, but get a lot of spin here.

An adapter hack forum would be good.

I disagree. It's rare to find an unanswered question here. Maybe all the 'relevant' questions have already been answered.

You can't be serious if you're talking about my precious
Serious now, it is always a personal way to measure FWIW.

I agree. And a 'lens cursing' forum too.

Many would say that most of the posts are about Zeiss, or Leica. I think the Rokkor "craze" will settle down and we'll be back to other brands (in another year or so.) Kinda depends on what else new comes along. I'm thinking ZE I guess.

it comes and goes. Sometimes it's big Zeiss stuff or others, now it seems to be big on Rokkor stuff. Whatever the current trend is, the forum will reflect that
