I have a couple of Canon 420EX flashes and just got a 580EXII. I've been using the Gary Fong 'thing' on my 420. Does a great jiob but is huge to pack, won't fold up, etc. Any suggestions for a good light modifier for my 580EX other than going that same way? Something foldable perhaps? Appreciate the help. Thanks.

Type the word "diffuser" in the search tool.

BetterBounce card
Index card with rubber band

I use the Lite Scoop...on my 580's it works very well and gives you floor to ceiling coverage. Really directs a nice soft light. I am Fonged Out with the light spheres....too much light loss....

That lightscoop looks like a stripped down version of Chucks.

Though it's not super portable, I've been happy with my Gary Fong Whale Tail Studio with the gels and different flap sets.

or a flip-it when I don't want to be too obtrusive.

Actually, compared to my other rig (pictured below) I find the Garry Fong Thing quite compact. As a bonus, at wedding receptions you can hide bread rolls and other collectables in it, for discrete consumption later.

I've tried most of them and really like the Lumiquest 80-20 kit. It folds up and fits in a pocket of my bag.

I like my 16x16 Softboxes and soon to be used with the Photoflex hot-shoe brkt for their small softbox. I got t softboxes shipped for less than the fong dong.
