I like the subject, but would like a wider perspective. I would like to see the context of where this sits.

Totally fair comment. That's what I'm here for, to learn and get ideas. I'm sort of on the fence with this one myself. Perhaps the lighting wasn't dramatic enough. I tried bumping the contrast but things just seemed to wash out beyond a certain point.

Got thinking about this and decided to try a different approach. A lot darker this time. The biggest feature of the original image is the significant detail in the wood grain and peeling paint, which I just don't seem to be able to draw out to advantage. Doesn't seem to be much DOF either, which is strange, considering that DOF is one of the DP1s strong points...
