Went to the young Redtail's habitat again this morning and not a creature was stirring.....except this young Hawk and a mouse. The mouse did not have a good day so I will spare you those images. Here are some of the Hawk.

Get your finger off of the shutter, back away from the camera. 28 gb! Wholly smokes dude. Glad I'm not your recycle bin.

Nice to see you back at it. Some great stuff here, hmm maybe I oughta.............

The head shots are killer!! And you think you need an 800 LMFAO I'll take that lousy 500 off of your hands to defray the cost.

Great set my friend.

The 50D shows it's stuff again - with a little help from Tom. Tom, I have been keeping up with the threads on the 50D, and they can be downright scary. I also see quite a few 50Ds for sale already in the B&S forum. But you have consistently posted outstanding shots with it. Have you had to change the way you shoot or pp to get these results?
Thanx,
Ron

Gee, Tom, and I thought I was out of control when I shot 4 gigs of a cooperative RTH However, fantastic shots and love the close-ups showing the killing part of the machine.

P.S. Bring on the gore

I love the detail on all of them. Would like to see a reply to surfnron's question.

I have the 40D and looking to how to best use the 50D and maybe its extra crop. In any case as said you have proven that sensor is doing a "The Job" with that lens.

I noticed you where at 5.6 on most? Low light?

Sweeeeeet. I know how you feel shooting mega GB's. I shot aroud 24-32 GB's a day at Conowingo Dam, but that's 10 fps pretty much all day long.

Hi Lil, hope all is calming down in your part of the world

Thanks and I can't take any credit for my stealthyness. This is a first year Hawk and at this stage they have a singular purpose. Catch and eat as many mice as possible and this one completely ignores me. This morning I could have reached out and touched him/her (although I never ever would do that).

Exceptional shots, in particular the head shots. I'm jealous, there is no way any wild UK bird of prey would let me get that close, not matter if it was a 1st year bird (someone will no doubt make a post now to prove me wrong on this point!).

Paul.
