This is my first free weekend in a little over a month, and I'm really itching to get out there with my new-to-me 100-400.

I'm trying to decide if i want to go to Bolsa Chica (i really enjoy the walk there) vs. heading to El Dorado in hopes of spotting the BE.

so, anyone been to El Dorado lately? how's the action been?

edit: also, i'm not sure if this is a bad place to post this, so if the mods feel it's inappropriate, please move/delete. thanks.

Just went to ED Park today. Several ospreys flew overhead, but since they haven't restocked the lake in two weeks. The BE made a brief appearance today, but at a distance.

BC has been really active every morning for a while. Lots of brown/white pelicans, cormorants, mergansers, egrets, grebes, and more out each day.

Check the weather report for morning fog though. My dad and I were out this morning from 6am-10:30am before the fog burned off enough to get some shots.

well, living in Long Beach, the weather outside my door is usually pretty good indication of what i can expect at BC. Guess I'll see how the weather's like, and decide if i want to hit BC or the park.

are the belted kingfishers still out at BC? my 70-200 was never able to get close enough for an acceptable shot, I'd really like to try again with the 100-400.
