Hello Santiago,

Nothing to change in this one. A beautiful, quiet, and peaceful scene. Good work.

Thank you, Hugh. Glad to read that the local peace and quietness reached you too.

Wonderful layering and lines in this image. I agree with the others that suggested cropping a bit off the top--just not too much of interest up there. I also think these tones would lend well to a BW conversion. Just a thought...

It's lovely. I like it just the way it is. The sky matches the flow and feel of the landscape.

santiago, that is exquisite, almost looks like a painting. Too bad the sky wasn't a little more interesting but I know how that is, you take what you can get.

All those lines, layers and colors create a very pleasing image indeed!

I like the sky in this one, Santiago. The low clouds "contain" the scene very nicely. Love the gentle layers of the foreground and the soft light and colors.

All you need is something---anything!---with a John Deere logo, and we could very easily be on the Palouse! Nicely layered diagonals...I am, however, in the camp of those who'd like a tighter crop on the sky...if it could be done without costing you any detail in the mid- and foreground, of course. Dave

There were plenty of John Deere tractors out there (as you can see the fields were just ploughed and harrowed), but they were all gone (supper time) Thanks for commenting, Dave.

Looks a lot like Palouse, perhaps fewer hills. I like the layered FG, I do agree the sky is lacking a bit and would like to see the scene illuminated by sunlight a bit too. But it's a fine take on the scene.

Thanks to you too, Milan.

Lovely soft light and layers, and the Palouse comparison is most fitting.
I like the scene, as is, but I can also see a crop to just above the main body of clouds. Just another thought
Very pleasing, Santiago.

Santiago
Well seen and shot. A bit linear for the Palouse contours, but the wealth of colored diagonals make a fine image.

A lovely rendition = I know the area well and this is a really nice capture = with feelings! Shot from Steptoe?

No, Arnold, but then I am flattered that the analogy I saw could be true in someone else's eyes . This shot was taken in France's Burgundy.

santiago, This is a nice photograph.

With the sky cropped completely this would become a photo about colours and patterns. Just another way of seeing this.

Y

I am sure it is, Y, as I gave it a try following your advice. This is but one of the possible views.

that's crazy beautiful! the colors are muted but very crisp! i also agree about the sky crop. there's some "blank space up there". maybe you don't have anymore of the bottom, which is why you can't crop?...

Below the grass was the narrow road on which I stood, but sure enough, I can crop more of the sky. Thanks for sharing your perspective, Binh.

I like the low light levels you have maintained here. Gives a good feel of the type of day it was at the moment you pressed the button.

There's a wonderful feeling I get when I view this image and it must be as a result of the superb light you captured here. The tones look so natural and compliment the beautiful sequence of elevated layers the hills provide. The sky as we know does not always co-operate however in this image I think it adds nicely to the peaceful mood you
captured.

Al B

Thank you very much, Al. I agree with you about the sky, without it the mood wouldn't be quite the same. But more about it below...

Thanks to you too, Adam. As I wrote above, I think the sky is necessary, however it is not the main subject here and can therefore sustain some cropping. Haven't thought of this as a BW, thanks for your suggestion

Mark, Gary, Tim: thanks friends for your comments. Gary, when I was out there taking this image I thought of some of your images of the Palouse, which you posted several years ago . Tim, I agree with you, contours are hard to get as in the original Palouse, but a few km away they have some other, most appealing contours (those of the botlles of Bourgogne blanc)
