I'm an amateur... I had all my lenses stolen from my car so i'm looking to replace. I'd like to keep the number of lenses down if possible. I'm not super picky and "L" lenses are not in my budget.

I've been waiting for the Tamron 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 to be released and it looks like it has. Does anyone have any experience with it? I'm thinking if it's above average quality that I could just couple it with a Vivitar 100mm 1:1 (with adapter) macro lens (if i can find one) and that should be good enough for my Landscape and macro needs (which is pretty much what i enjoy shooting most.

Any thoughts / comments / suggestions would be great.

Thanks!

Consider the Canon 18-55 IS and 55-250 IS set as an alternative to give you nearly equivalent range but at a lower price point and better image quality.

I have this lens without VC.

It is an excellent lens for the perameters you are posing. It has an excellent macro function.

Go for it!

When you can wrap your head around it save your money for L prime lenses.
