I have a Nikon 300mm 2.8 for sale. This is the first AF model. No VR, no AFS, no motor in the lens. Will autofocus just fine with any nikon body that's a D70 or better. Glass is tack, aperture blades are clean, no dings on the lens.

Also comes with the big chunky case, and big hood, which I never used.

How old is this lens - 20 yrs? Is this the one with the little filter at the back of the lens? Any other pics, glass, contact area, its difficult to see the condition based on the contrasty images. Any dust, has it been to Nikon for cleaning or anything?

According to Nikon Serial Number comparison chart, this type of 300mm f/2.8 AF was produced between Nov 1988 thru Sep 1992. My guess for this lens was made either early 1992 or late 1991
