Your camera position is a bit high on top of it.

position was intentional, style preference... one of my professors always made us shoot at least 2 frames per set up from on top of a ladder. it kinda stuck.. thanx for the feed back . I really appreciate it!

also, that earring is waaaay too distracting and need more of a hair light so she doesn't blend into the background

was this sharp (focused)? I hope you nailed the focus on the original to gives those baby brown's justice

Camera angle is fine. The earring and nose, as mentioned before are very distracting.

She insisted on the earrings. Ugh I know.. I have a some other poses that may be better. I'll have to follow up with them tomorrow maybe. She was the 10th person i shot that day. These were all for advertising for a local salon. it is such a huge project, and I'm SURE I'm seeing the picture differently than everyone else. hence, I posted here. I'll put some more up tomorrow. but I have some post fashion show ones I like also . I don't know what it is I'm never this busy this time of year. This year has been killer! I guess I shouldn't complain.

Thanx so much for the feedback . I really appreciate it!

The ones on your blog all seem blown out to me but better.
Maybe it's just a web thing. Was that a 2 step ladder?

Something to remember about camera positions:
If the nose is short, you can elongate it by shooting from a higher angle.
Vice versa. If the nose is long, shoot from a lower angle to shorten the nose.
They love you for it!

that has to be a web thing . histogram is fine on originals.
yes that was a two step ladder. if I don;t have one of thos I usually climb up on a chair or anything else available. I use tha all the time for corporate head shots. it wors well on grizzeled execs.

The flat earing should have hung edge on to the camera, like the other one. Distracting shine. Maybe tone it down?
