I was able to raise $2400 to buy some lenses, and I'm in a happy agony of making decision as what to buy.
I always wanted to buy Contax N17-35/2.8 and Leica Apo 180/2.8, but I can only afford one.
On top of that, I have few other lenses in mind.
Below are the lenses in consideration.

FD85/1.2L ... $500
Contax 85/1.4 ... $450
Contax N85/1.4 ... $1100 (With conversion .. about $1500)
Contax N24-85 ... $400 (With conversion ... about $800)
Contax N17-35 ... $1000 (With conversion ... about $1700)
Leica Apo 180/2.8 ... $1800
OM 35-80/2.8 ... $500

What is a smart buying here, considering my current profile of lenses?

Contax N17-35 + FD85/1.2L (if you know someone who can guarantee a quality conversion).

I have a Zuiko fetish so I'd go for OM 35-80 (awesome price AFAIK) and wait till a Zuiko 21 or 18 appears. Providade you have the Rokkor you won't 'miss' a lens for low-light... now, if you have a FDD85L fetish that's another thing

I know someone, and I already double checked with him, who can convert FD85L properly.
I'm leaning towards the combo you mentioned, but another part of me says I should go with Leica 180 APO + FD85L because the Apo 180 is such an expensive lens to get. And, I'm not sure if I'd get another chance at it.
Then again, the Contax 17-35 is also hard to find as well as being expensive.

I guess it comes down to whether I need more a long telephoto or wide zoom.

I already have Zuiko 21/3.5

What FL do you need?

I know the feeling of having money burning in your pocket but ask yourself what do I miss in my current line up?

When I look at your list you seem to have a great bag of lenses that covers alot of shooting. Buy a trip to a nice place and shoot with what you have...

I originally saved up the money to buy Leica Apo 180/2.8, but Missing super wide zoom got me thinking about Contax 17-35.
I travel frequently to China and Korea.
And when I travel, I usually took CV Apo 125/2.5, Rokkor 58/1.2.
I didn't have OM21/3.5, EF24-105L, or ef300/4 then.

I'd love to have this kit when i travel.
Contax N17-35
Either FD85L or Contax 85/1.4
CV125
Leica Apo 180

Again, I need to make a decision between Contax N17-35 and Leica Apo 180.

I would have to say get the Contax N17-35mm and Canon/Contax 85mm. They seem to fill your range a bit bit better, and the Leica APO 180mm seems to come up for sale quite a bit more often than the N17-35mm, so why not snag that while you have a chance, and wait for a deal on the Leica?

I've bought Contax N17-35, Contax 85/1.4, and Leica 180/2.8 (Non-Apo).

Now, I have to save money to convert the Contax N17-35...

It is getting closer all the time. It is not an easy conversion.

I hope to have plenty of time this weekend, as the kids are going to Grandma & Grandpa's house.

I actually bought the Canon FD85L, and gave a guy to convert it, but he told me it's very difficult and time-consuming job, so I returned the lens, and bought Contax 85/1.4....
