I was in Chicago for business and had my 40D with a friend's 17-55 2.8 IS on it and ventured out to Grant Park for the Obama rally. Didn't have a ticket so I had to settle for the overflow area with Jumbotron screen. Tried to capture to the emotions of the crowd. C&C appreciated.

Brings chills all over again. Great job capturing the emotion of the event. My fave is #4. There's a lot of energy in that pic. Thanks so much for sharing.

I think 4 captures the energy the most as digigirl has expressed

I love #1. #4 is a great crowd shot. Nice work.

Did people think it was odd you were taking pictures of them? Or did they not even notice?

FSJ_Guy,

Thanks, somehow I think they got used to getting their picture taken pretty quickly.

Wow, what incredible shots of an incredible night. You really captured the emotions of the crowd, and by all reports, people around the world. I especially like #3 and #4, they so clearly show the overwhelming joy and excitement that this historical moment brought to so many people, myself included. Well done.

Are those 24-70's they are shooting?

Based on the flared end, my guess is that these are 16-35's.
