Ok I'll bite. I'm a freelancer from Iowa so I did a lot of political coverage over the past two years. ![]() Here is a picture taken by a friend of mine and you can see me in the pool at the Obama/Oprah event in Cedar Rapids. So in this pic you can see me and Obama. ![]() |

![]() This photo was taken on Halloween night in Highland, Indiana. Over 42,000 attended in a small park in the Chicago suburb. Indiana had not voted Democratic since 1964...but turned blue in 2008! Have more on my website on smugmug. |

June 12, 2007 Senator Barack Obama was campaigning here in Los Angeles. I work from home and at the time my son was three months old. My wife ran out to do an errand and she called me five minutes later. She had mentoned that there was a TON of media at the gas station across the street from our house. We had figured the Seantor Obama was making a campaign stop to perhaps talk about alternative energy considering the gas station sells ethanol. I grabbed my three month old son, strapped him to my chest in the Baby Bjorn and grabbed my camera. Sure enough there was media everywhere, and security was tight. Nobody was saying who was coming, or why. Senator Obama showed up and I was able to snap a bunch of pictures from about fifty feet or so. I figured if I had the opportunity to get within earshot, and away from the crowd he would hold my son. What politician would not want to hold a baby. I scouted the area and noticed a waist height wall by wear his caravan of SUV's were. *Yes he was talking about alternative energies yet he showed up in a caravan of six SUV's* Anyway, I made it over to the wall and after he finished speaking as he started to enter the vehicle I lifted my son in the air and said, "Senator Obama my three month old son wants me to vote for you!!!!!!!!" He stopped in his tracks, exited the vehicle, walked over and exclaimed, "A baby!!!!" He asked if he could hold my son, which of course I obliged...and wek chatted for a couple of minutes. I asked if I could talk a picture and he said yes. The rest is history: |
