I just received a Panasonic G1, and it is an interesting camera - sort of a hybrid between P+S, and DSLR.

The kit lens is so so, and I saw a note on another website referring to an adapter for Leica M lenses.

Do any of you knowledgeable folks know of a source for such an adapter??

I already checked with Steve Gandy, and he is checking on it.

Thanks.

Martin

Panasonic have just announced a adapter for R and M mount lenses for their micro 4/3rds cameras:

Gandy sells the adapter for $175 I believe. Either he has them in stock, or he is waiting for another batch so he can fill orders.

I'd check getDPI's Buy and Sell forum. Monza, a contributer over there sometimes has them for sale. There is jinfinance on ebay who also sells them. There are lots of different ones available. I'd stick with what is proven, and Gandy's is a great adapter--I have his.

One important point:
These adaptors also allow users to use the movable MF assist function, which enlarges the selected area when focusing manually.
Do the other adapters allow that? That is a big selling point for me.

Any Cosina Voigtlander dealer can source the Voigtlander adapter, Cameraquest sells their own, there's several eBay options and now there's the Panasonic version (which should be shipping soon).

All adapters allow use of the AF assist, it's always movable.
