The shots are all really bad.

Thank goodness my daughter hired a pro.

I had all my gear and never took it out of my car. My wife didn't want me to be uncle bob and/or intimidate the real photographer.

I had fun.

"intimidate the real photographer"

by the looks of the equipment on your profile you would've done just that.

"intimate the real photographer.."

Not really.. real photog dont' get intimidate.. they know it's the person behind the camera.. not the the equipments..

beside I've been to an event with 1DmkII with all L 2.8 zoom lens, and L Prime.. dont' think they even noticed me.. well I did stay out of their way as well :-D

Congratulations on your daughter's wedding. It's fun to see what you can get with a p and s, I do it every once in a while.
I'm sure every one of us NOTICE when a guest or family member has serious gear. I don't know if intimidate is the right term, but we're sure noticing. I hope the pro got a killer shot or two with you and the bride.

I certainly notice - partly cos I think why would anyone want to be lugging all that gear around when they're not getting paid....? One this year had a guest with a 5D + 70-200 2.8IS, 20D + 10-22 and a whole bag of flashes, batteries etc and he ran around the whole wedding the whole day. I am considering offering him some work

....I wish more "blond bombshells" would run around nude in public, so everyone could go into hysteria with their gear, and take the load off weddings for awhile.

My bro's wedding next year. I urge him to hire a pro, so that I can bring my FM3a along with a 50 1.4 and taken some B&W snaps, only.

Most of the pics that I took were of the pros setups...

I have to get ideas where I can.

I was a groomsman for my friend's wedding, but I still brought "my setup", only because I don't trust the photographer he hired. So I told my brother to shoot with a...er...uh..."light" setup during the ceremony. Granted, I don't think the other photographer appreciated it...!

My daughters wedding is coming up in May. She's hired some dude named "Brian Mullins" to shoot her wedding. I'll be watching him like a hawk and breathing down his neck every step of the way.

j/k. Brian is a foot taller than me and could crush me with his massive fist. I'll be the perfect dad and stay out of his way.
