Got my new 50D today, having traded in my 40D, took a shot in the store and breathed a sigh of relief. The new LCD is the real deal. Stunning comes to mind. I haven't seen a Nikon LCD in the equivalent size, but I can make this comparison: it's like the new BlackBerry Bold high res screen compared to all the others. Much, much better. Hi def like. |

Cool. I guess after shooting film for 40 years I just didn't get the chimpin'/LCD thing. What I prefer is a big 'n bright optical VF. It's nice to review my pics in the hotel or airplane after the shoot but I rarely find time to look at it while in the heat of a shoot. I actually thought the 40D LCD was amazing after shooting with a 10D and 20D! The only LCD that really matters to me are my Cinema Displays. The 30 inch and 23 models really beat using a light table! With all that said, I preordered a 50D over a month ago at Amazon and the ship date says 10/22-11/15. I guess Canada gets 'em first. |

How would you compare the image quality (noise, detail, etc) to the 40D at ISO 400 and below?? |

dpreview said with the new anti-reflection caotings, they thought the Canon LCD is even better than the Nikon and Sony LCD's. |

Is the 50D's LCD covered with tempered Glass or plastic with the new coating? |
