Can any of our German posters here on FM tell me how to get from Dusseldorf airport to Koelnmesse where Photokina is I work for BA & we don't fly to Cologne anymore [] ......I can get to Dusseldorf no problem, but from there I need help Thanks

I am not German but can tell you following ..

You can take a train from Dusseldorf Flughafen to Koln Messe/Deutz and also you can see the time table and buy the tickets online here

Hey, we FMers should wear FM t-shirts on Photokina, I'm sure quite a few will be there! I'll go on Saturday with my dad, anyone else?

I took the Sbahn 7 right from the dusseldorf terminal to Soligen Hauptbahnhoff and then switched for the train to Koln but there must be a more direct way to do that.

I am so jealous.

I'm not quite sure what the big deal of going to Photokina is. I like tech stuff, but a whole trade fair of it does not grab me.

I will however be in the Köln Messe in a couple of weeks for Intermot, the big motorcycle show. There will be plenty of photo opportunities for shooting the decorations on the bikes

I used to live about 2 hours south of Köln, and I'm bummed, because I was only there during the 2004 show, but I wasn't yet really into photography (just starting). I so wish I'd have known about Photokina at that time, as I'd have gone. I got to Germany 3 months after Photokina 2002, and left 5 months before Photokina 2006.

The post's topic is Photokina 2008 and so has gotten over 1000 hits. But it's really about air/rail travel and so would better be titled that way.
