Some of you have probably seen this:

New Canon sensor tech reported

Go down to Aug. 27

Almost certainly from a real document. Very interesting details for those into camera tech.

A 5D replacement sticky would be wonderful!

If those specs are true I would pre-order when available, a perfect backup/2nd body to my 1D3 and with 1-series AF. Mmmm

You know it's just possible that the 50D has a kick ass sensor. It's then likely the 5DII will be something special.

I wasn't so much pointing out the 5DII "specs", but rather the technical stuff reported on Aug. 27.

I don't think 16 or 20mp matters as much as a three year improvement in sensor design. I'm becoming confident that the 5D replacement will be another benchmark camera.

Especially if they keep it at ~16mp. I liked the bigger pixels on the 5D compared to the 1DsII. Maybe the same will be true comparing the 5DII to the 1DsIII.

There's been talk of Canon's new sensor design (that uses a different technology) for years, but nothing has come of it to date.
