Quite possibly, but it also mentions that they're using Digic 4 so hopefully they've been able to pull of some magic and reduce the ISO noise even further, preferably without in-camera noise-reduction a la Noise Ninja.

I speak english and spanish, they have much more in common than chinese and english, and google butchers quite a bit of both. It's only useful for word by word literal translations.

The purported spec don't list in camera shake reduction.

What I find appealing about specs is that since at least the 30D, the xxD resolution specs have been lock-step with the 1D non "s" bodies... so hopefully this means a 1DIV at around 15MP (and full frame would be even better).

Also has UDMA support, though hopefully that's "Nikon" 30MB/s UDMA and not Canon's relatively weak UDMA speeds in the 1DsIII.

And for the person wishing for more than 9 AF sensors.... looks like it won't be, though they are all supposedly cross type.

well i look forward to hearing what the 5d replacement is all about, and then after that i will be making my XSi upgrade decision.

Honestly, a camera packed with those features, at an XXD price point, would be fine with me. I just don't see it happening. If a 50D comes out, priced ala 40D, I'll buy one in a heart beat, and eat crow all of the way to the bank.

That said, don't hold your breath, and expect that to happen. I'm willing to bet, that it doesn't happen. How long has the 40D been out? You think the replacement is already coming out?

Who knows though, maybe the 50D is the 5D replacement, just not full frame. Wouldn't that be a punch in the balls. Do you know what I mean/ The 5D was/is awesome because it's full frame, at this price point. So instead of giving that to the consumer, drop it to a crop, call it a 50D, and viola. There's your new 5D.

You are on to something here.
Canon are most probably doing the exact same thing as Nikon - standardizing on a single sensor resolution (number of pixels) for 50D, 5DII, and the 1D4.
This way they can share/reuse most of the electronics.
The only thing that the 50D spec does not mention is which processor is used in the 50D. Is the Digic III capable of 6.3 x 15mp ?

Overall, the 50D looks like a somewhat pointless upgrade.
Canon are most probably testing the new sensor tech that they have (which allowed them to increase the ISO to 12800 in a 15mp crop sensor).
