Didnīt I read that some 24 times the last 3 month?

As far I remember I guessed before, that the 5D follow up will be announced during or short before worlds most important photo expo, the photokina. If this happens I will be a very relible source in the future, too. Right?

If this doesn't happen, I'm suing someone.

Is there a way to ban new threads with the title 5D MKII, 3D, 7D, 6D, 50D, or such variations until something actually happens?

One of the upcoming cameras should be named 5D MK2:

Nope. Best is to ignore the Canon gear section in the run-up to the big shows, notably Photokina and PMA. Alas, that renders the gear section useless for about 50% of the time. The other option is to always drink a beer before visiting. Doesn't change the amount of rumor-posts at all but it makes it just a bit more bearable and you get to post great beer-bottle shots as an added boon

You would think the 5D would be selling at a big discount now but instead the steet price has went up $200-$300 after the Canin rebates ended. I got one for $1799 with the rebate and would love to get another one at that price but I guess I will pay twice as much for a camera that is probalby not goig to be twice what the current 5D is.

This looks like the book publishing equivalent of cyber squatting!
Lets hope their publisher is flexible on the name in case Canon doesn't oblige them witha camera!

I've tried a Wednesday and it's a real disappointment... I'm going to save my money for a Friday and if I can convince the wife, I might try for a Saturday too!

Yep, it's going to be WEDNESDAY indeed. I have it from a very reliable source that Obama will simultaneously announce his running mate and the 5D replacement!

No you didn't - not with "in 10 days!"

The last post you read probably said the announcement would come in 11 days

I learned my lesson last Feb. when a trusted, very reliable source told me not to buy a 100-400 because Canon was coming out with a update.

In a way, I'm guess he is right, Canon will update it eventually.

"announced" is the past tense. This camera has not been "announced".

In Spanish you have the "past future tense" which covers things you had already begun in the recent past before something else happened in the near future!
Yeah, took me while to get my head around that one

I've seen thsee sorts of threads so often. A message saying "hey and new 5D is comming in the next week". This is usually followed by and official press statement announcing the launch of another XXD/XXXD/XXXXD low end camera. Whoopie...not!
