I'd like to give my wife a camera bag for a birthday present. Only has to carry one DSLR body with one lens mounted (at this point a Nikon D40x + 18-200), plus minor accessories like one spare battery and a couple of SD cards. Of course, it should be fashionable and attractive, not "pro" or "serious" looking.

Ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hey, neat. I feel like it's kind of expensive, but it fits all the criteria and I think she'd love it. Jill-E's small bag will do everything she wants and exactly how she wants it... great recommendation.

If it didn't take them two days just to ship (and I hadn't procrastinated 'til the last minute), I'd buy her one of these. I still might, but I'd have to give her a "gift certificate" on her birthday this Friday to show what's on the way. Not ideal, but may be necessary.

Any other ideas? That first one was a solid hit.

You can get her a Zing SLR cover... and then she can just put the camera in any large purse she likes:

A D40x would fit in a "standard zoom SLR camera cover".

Hey, those Zing covers look nice.

I decided to call Jill-E to figure out when the red bags would come in, since those were backordered. Lo and behold, I got the owner (Jill, of course) on the phone, she got back to me within 5 minutes, found me what I wanted, and will ship priority overnight to get it here by Friday. World-class service, and I'm thoroughly impressed.

Jill-E gets a five-star rating from me so far.

Good swap. Does she know you are going to trade her for a bag?

Does she know she is going to be expected to carry your back up kit?

Shhh.... she's been led to believe it's her camera. Poor thing.

Yesterday I bought a camera bag for MY wife,

but no matter how many pieces I chop her into, she still won't fit.

Sorry, it's even later here "up over."
