Can the Academic version of Lightroom v1.x be upgraded to the new LR2? |

Are you sure? A lot of academic software is priced very low and can not be used for an upgrade. I don't know about LR, but Aperture Academic clearly said on the box it would not work for upgrades. May want to check before you buy. |

I guess I'll find out soon enough. I have the academic version of CS3/Lightroom and ordered the LR upgrade the other day. Once the disc gets here I'll see (hopefully) if the upgrade works. |

My son is in Med School, and had LR 1.3 academic. He purchased the upgrade for $99 and it has worked well. No problem upgrading the academic version. |
