Not looking for a critique, but feel free to leave comments. Mostly just happy to have a site that looks decent.

www.yourfrozenmoments.com

P.S
Got to meet tony last week, he likes zima's and o'douls.

Ok, so I know you didnt ask for critiques but if you claim "Nashville wedding photography at its best" why is the home page a picture of a dude smoking? Not sure its gonna connect with brides...

Just my worthless .02 though. My site looks like crap since I havent updated it since 2006, so dont listen to me! haha...

Very strong images, better than my portfolio, but there aren't many of them... and it appears to me like you've only done 6-7 weddings.

Well I don't know about the cigarrette pictures but they do kinda portray the whole "frozen moments" domain thing.

My advise is that if you're doing weddings, you could perhaps grasp other "frozen" moments that could appeal to the buying consumer.

Great site, still working on my blu

The pictures on the splash page are not good. I didn't go any further than that.
I'm guessing the brides don't go any further either.

Of course if you find a cigar smoking dude that's in charge of finding a photographer you might do OK?

Come to think of it I'm a cigar smoking dude and I like pics of beautiful women better.

But your not a bride...
I know that we like to think that we know what brides want, but the truth is, we attract brides based on our style, not because there is a girl on the front cover. If this is what i think is cool and they do too then its a good match. I am trying a new angle however, i have gotten my two inquiries and local college student 'can i be your human light stand' request for the week (since its been up). So its not deterring brides as of yet. I will try both ways out of curiosity but it will likely be an addition. I am appreciative of your input.

I like the site overall. Like someone else said I am not sure about the first image attracting a bride to look at the rest of the site. It is a good image and needs to shown but some of your others may draw a bride in faster.
With that said I just did a Blu Domain site and changed my entrance photo 3 times in a 5 days so who am I to talk.

I don't think it's the fact that we dont like those pics . . . but when I look at it, it doesn't show me excellence, expertise and WOW wedding pictures. Sure, they are creative and cool, but not something I would expect to see from the best wedding photographer in Nashville.

To me, the pictures (on splash page) show NOTHING related to a wedding. Nothing at all.

Also, good advice that I received from excellent business advisors is to not state that you are "the best" or anything superlative like that, unless you have facts to back it up (like a national/public vote, statistics, hard facts, etc). I'm not saying that you aren't the best, but you don't tell me why you are the best. I would hope that your images tell me you are the best, than some cheesy statement that anyone can put on their own site (Wow, that sounds harsh after reading it, but in no way do I mean to degrade/belittle anything you've done, or knocking you for anything, just general advice that I was given).

Come on Spencer.... its not like there's any competition from other shooters in Nashville. Have you seen the clowns calling themselves wedding photographers in the Music City?

I really dig the smoking pic, as I believe I've mentioned. However, I'm skeptical as to whether its the best possible *lead* for the wedding site.... And the wife agrees that you need a PWG lead (inside joke).

My original and current moniker is
A moment. A picture. A lifetime.
I havent tied it in to my current branding yet. (I get marketing geniuses to help me work this out on their lunch breaks in exchange for cici's pizza)
We have redone the logo, (ala new website too) but need a scheme that goes onto letter head and is a universal media kit is still being hammered out.
ALL the advice given has been noted and processed. I am currently searching the archives for a gorgeous bride. I should be able to
Spencer, i cried for hours.... how could you! No, j/k. I was the best new artistic photographer in nashville under 25 as voted by the S.N.A.P society for nashvilles artistic photographers, and i got a Jr journalist award from the gannette group (major newspaper syndicate) but alas, no wedding awards. Guess I should stick with the other two
But you are correct. Biz Ethics Law literally say what you summarized for calling ones self the best. Which is why i phrased it as such (which leaves so much gray area no one would touch it) plus it would help for a search engine (best nashville wedding photography) is very popular. and as i havent search engine optimized this site yet so i figured what the heck.

all the same, will have original motto and some bride photos up too!
thank you everyone.
