Boy--the Samyang/Rokinon 85 sure draws some pretty bokeh for very little money! |

M8 + Voigtländer 28/2 Ultron @ f/2: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The last one is me, shot by a friend of mine. His first try ever with a rangefinder. The Ultron 28/2 has alot of character and is sharp as hell wide open. I love the bokeh, which is on the edge of "harsh", but still not. |

I used the Ultron 28/2 for a short week once, trying to use it as a normal lens on a G1. I loved the images, really liked the bokeh, and finally had to return it due to the problems with smeared edges and corners. Those Leica "offset" microlenses are a bless I assume. |

Voigtlander needs to make a 20/2 or 20/1.4 in some SLR mount for $1100. |

Yes, the mark I of the 85L has it too. I thought it was a filter, but nope. Dumb vegetable bokeh. |

Any lens with an aspherical element has a potential for onion bokeh. |

just joined FM and since i'm on a fairly tight budget i have mostly alt lenses, thought i'd add a few bokeh shots from some of them. ![]() same lens at f/1.2 - bokeh is quite a bit busier but no more hexagons: 2) ![]() 3) ![]() 4) ![]() a shot with a bit more distant subject (still f/1.2): 5) ![]() since i got this lens mainly for low light narrow dof this is the only shot i've put up so far with the lens stopped down a fair amount that has any kind of background to blur - shot at either f/5.6 or f/8 can't remember: 6) ![]() all these shots were taken on 4/3 camera so they give an idea of the lens performance on 4/3 or µ4/3, not sure if this lens is mountable on a full frame camera. |
