Yep, marketing and the drool affect can hook the best of us. I have to say the full frame sensor has been a real treat in one area I had not been thinking of.... seeing your subject, |

Wouldn't it be funny if it were a Nikon announcement, and it was the D80 replacement. I'd actually be excited since we didn't talk about it.... no matter how obvious the specs might seem. |

Some larger scans here from the German mag - note the differences between this and the D300 body. Diopter on the side, change of position of metering mode switch, addition of info button on bottom right. Lack of CF door open lever (looks like it's a slide a la Canon) ![]() ![]() New flash looks quite different - slimmer and less boxy than the SB800, but can't see the back yet. The mech around the swivel area looks very different so hopeful of proper 360 degree here. |

It better be a 5d Killer considering the 5D is now 3 years old... |

Why should it be a 5D (II) killer? |

I think many Nikon shooters would be happy with a camera that matches the 5D's quality and price. |

I can't imagine selling off my 70-200vr with the TC and the 18-200vr just to get one frankly. I've been more than pleased thus far with the D300's results. If I was disgruntled about something it might be more attractive. Also my bank account is pretty exhausted to begin with, so even the thoughts of a D3 will have to wait a very long time........ |

Well, the alleged D700 would be cheaper than the D3 |
