two more pictures. those pictures are taken by a cell phone camera. this guy says he works in a printing factory which printed the instructions of D3 before. if it's true, it's just a smaller D3.

Great. I may have to return or trade my newly purchased Cub Cadet i 1046 and let the grass/weed grow 10 feet high. Instead of mowing it down I'll just shoot some pictures of the tall grass/weed.

This appears to be the body that so many have been waiting on, if it's real. And I must say this is, the most believable rumor I've seen so far. I'm not totally sold on the 3rd photo. The side stamped D700 looks a lot like the D200 with the contour and round port caps. The finder housing doesn't seem to be large enough to house a full frame pentaprism. It looks like D300 housing to be honest. However the bare frame in the second scan does appear to be a Nikon body, of course, with a large LCD, and a rather large VF housing.

I would say that the printer has just lost his job. Nikon will make sure they never deal with that publisher.

I have been in the print trade for many years and have had to bite my tongue on many occasions. THat is a real no-no.

It looks like the real deal to me.

I hope it's true! I want them to keep it at 12MP and not bump it up to 16-18 as some rumors have stated.

That guy also said the price is not that bad, but he can't say more....

It may be the D300 housing. The article mentions it uses the MB-D10 grip. This would help save Nikon money in tooling/manufacturing costs, getting things to market much faster. Interesting rumor/possibility.

I agree. And in another image, you can see the larger housing with a round eyepiece which wouldn't fit the descripion of any single grip Nikon DSLR.

This is the image that seems to show a lower profile VF housing.

I think the body frame in the picture is the same as D300's. when you color the frame into Black, you will feel that it's smaller.

Of course it's true, I bought my D300 less than a month ago, but I still love it.

Nice find!

What is the RRP of the D300 there? (in relation to the $2995 quoted above)

$3000US is around £1500 here, I paid £900 ($1800) for my D300.

Still too expensive. Needs to be under $2500 to compete.

$2500 would be ideal...but I'd be willing to fork out 3k. Really will depend on where the 5D II lands and and what features it has. I don't care about additional resolution, but it'd have to have much better AF, build, LCD, etc as well, and if it does, I don't see it coming in at $2500 either.

the guy who published those pictures told that it has same AF as D3. I think it will be very similar to D3 except the speed and D3's pro body.

Guaranteed the 5DII will be no more than the current 5D, and I'm sure it will be close in many ways to what Nikon will put out. Current 5D prices are around $2300, from what I've been seeing.

It's not just the price of new body, you also have to figure out cost of some ff glass to go with.
