This was shot from the Horn of Mt Buffalo in really dreadful light. The eye saw only the layering of the hills, the camera saw a lot more detail. I thought of blurring the detail out, but decided to leave it be.

I like how the layers continue in the sky. Excellent location. I would explore this with diffeent light.

Hey Mark,

Very cool! I love layered shots like this. One thought... what about cropping just a hair off the top to get rid of that dark layer at the top?

Hello Mark,

Super image. One of those views that make it worthwhile to get out in search of them. Good work.

Hi Mark ,

I love the layering and the colour gradation from front to rear . I think you were right to leave the detail as it is , as it adds further interest to the scene .

Thanks Ute. I'll certainly be back in that area again - and hopefully in better conditions.

Thanks for the comments Jim. I looked at the crop you suggest, but decided I liked the 'post box' effect of the heavy sky.

Nice shot, Mark. Buffalo sure is a great place. Each time I've been there, I've run out of time to get to the Horn. I'll make it a priority next trip.

Thanks Adrian. On reflection, I agree with your comment. But I was surprised at the detail that I just hadn't seen....

Hello, Mark.

I enjoy this shot a lot. It is superb how the clouds and sky add two more layers, echoing those of the hills!
