Great series, Chris! Man, I love the high-speed / squirrel image! And the humming bird lecture is hilarious! Well done throughout.

These are great Chris, it is amazing how the hawk takes the head of the snakes.

Those are great shots. I disagree, however, with your assessment regarding the background. To the contrary, the ledge and masonry create some dynamic tension, IMHO, and establish a dimension for the scene that makes it more than just another technically-flawless and beautiful wildlife shot.

Call it visual irony or contrast - either way, the mixture of elements makes the picture a lot more interesting and enjoyable, for me, anyway.

THANKS.

Great documentary!! Looks like chicks are pretty growned up! Are you watching the nest since chicks had hatched?

Thank you, Majo. I do watch them from hatching on, but really try to stay back until they are looking a bit larger and stronger to lessen any possible stress.

Amazing series Chris!!!! SO hard to pick a favorite but I am loving the shots of the hawk landing with the snake/snack. Of course the chick shot is also amazing.

Thanks so much, I really like the term Snake/Snack.

I am crying from your crying for the snake, the lizard, the squirrel, the nother snake, another squirrel, and more snakes and tomorrow we will cry some more for the bunnies, more squirrels and the gophers. No wait, I was chopping an onion.

Hi, Shelley. Thanks so much. Sometimes you can wait for hours and they will change their pattern and come in a different way and dang, hours just standing. Worth the wait anytime, though.

Thank you, Bill. I really appreciate your assesment of the urban factor in the images. It is true that this is where they are and I'm gonna make the images even though they're not in a tree.

awesome series all in all, but #5, #6, #7, #8, #9 should go straight to a nature mag. Super detailed images. Congratulations.

Very nice series.

Hats off to the company that 'hosts' these birds. Wish more people thought that way.
